Pick an option that’s right for you!

We have two options

  1. Our innovative Digital Casting method
  2. Foam Impression Kit method

Last week, we discussed how to use your Foam Kit. In this blog post we are going to focus on the Digital Casting method and how to take your impressions.

Digital Casting Method:

After you have selected your orthotics, with or without footwear, you will then select the casting method. Most importantly, in order to complete a digital cast, you must place an order on a smartphone or tablet. From there, you will be walked through the steps to capture your impressions.

Once you are ready to place your order, the first step will be to prepare your area and ensure you have everything you need nearby. Don’t worry, you will always be able to retake the photo if the first one doesn’t work out!

To begin, you will need:

  • smartphone or tablet
  • a regular letter size (8.5x11) piece of paper
  • a heavy book or box
  • And a chair/ledge for support

How It Works:

When you are ready to cast your impressions, remove your socks and follow the step-by-step instructions provided. You want to ensure that the piece of paper is within the green frame. It is important for us to have visibility of all four corners.

You will first start with the top of your foot. Left, then right.

Next, will be a photo of your instep to capture your arch profile. For this picture, a timer is set up while you are standing in front of your phone. You will want to prop your phone up against a wall and position your foot in front of the camera. Remember, we need to capture the inside of your foot!

Once you have completed the left, you will do the same for the right foot.

Finally, we will need some pictures of the bottom of your feet. To do this, you will place your phone on the floor, screen up. While standing, and possibly using the chair for support, you will hold your foot above your phone so you can see the bottom of your foot in the viewfinder. Please try to keep your foot flat and parallel to the floor. Don’t worry, once again, a timer will be set up to capture the photo. You will repeat the same steps on the other foot.

And that’s it! Once you have finished, you will label your digital cast and hit save. From there, you will continue through ‘check out’ to complete your order.

Once we receive your order, our technicians will examine your impressions and begin fabricating your new custom made orthotics. Once they are complete, we will ship your finished products back to you.
